Working Moms
Motherhood is HARD! Whether you are a stay at home mom or a working mom, it is just plain hard! But since this blog is specifically about the working mama, we'll stick to some of the challenges of being a working mom for this post. It is a daily struggle being torn between two things that we care deeply about. How do we balance work and motherhood at the same time? How do we find time to do all of the things in such a short time frame?
Can we just take a minute to talk about Mom guilt?!?! How do you find a healthy balance in motherhood? I don't know about you but it is a CONSTANT struggle for me. Whether we make the decision to stay at home with our children, or pursue our career in the workplace, mom guilt will always be there, waiting to attack all of our insecurities! As a working mom, running a business and trying to keep up with 4 small children, I have a really hard time keeping up with everything sometimes. And I know so many other working moms that struggle with all the same things. We try so hard to separate family from work to find what we think is a good balance, but it's impossible. Afterall, aren't our families usually our why, our reason for working so hard in the first place? So why not celebrate both parts of our story? We can't be one without the other! Instead of feeling guilty and struggling to find balance, we should be proud of our accomplishments in the business realm and in motherhood.
A few months ago I decided to start offering business headshot portraits, but I wanted to do something more than just a simple headshot. I wanted to tell more of the story that couldn't be portrayed in just a headshot. I wanted to capture the personality and lifestyle of a business through it's people and go beyond the norm to incorporate family in the working environment to truly capture the whole story. We are having so much fun putting this promotion together and can't wait to work with more strong business women and their beautiful families!
The first beautiful Mom and business owner I'd like to recognize is Irene (pictured below). Irene is a very talented woman from Italy. She has 3 sons Matteo, Dario, and Lorenzo with her husband Eric in Monument, CO. Irene owns and operates American Pie Bakery out of her home and has been very successful making cookies and cakes for our local community. She purchased American Pie Bakery in 2014 to pursue her love for baking, and in 2018, when she became pregnant with her twin boys Dario and Lorenzo, she decided to move the bakery to her home. Irene states, it can still be hard at times to find that balance between life and a career but she is fortunate and happy to be part of both worlds. If you find yourself in need of a custom cake or delicious custom cookies, you can find Irene at americanpiecolorado.com
