In Home Consultations

What are in home consults and why do I need one? 

In home consults are included with each custom session booked with our studio. We start our custom sessions with a design and concept consultation in the comfort of your own home.  This is where we will get a feel for your family's style and personality in person. This helps us start building a connection with one another and lets us know if we are a good fit or not. We want our clients to feel comfortable and confident with their photographer to ensure you have a great photo session. During the consultation we will also consult with you more of how exactly you are envisioning your portraits to look in the end and about where you might display your finished art.  Oftentimes, we will coordinate the session with a specific area in your home so that it is essentially designed for the space making it fit in seamlessly to your décor. There is nothing like a family portrait that truly “belongs” where it is displayed!

While in your home, our photographer Erica will help you with clothing coordination. We will select outfits from our studio closet for your newborn, for your little ones depending on size, as well as dresses for the women in the family. This will give you the opportunity that to try on some of our outfits and if that doesn't work out, we can even help pick outfits from your own closet. As part of our full-service experience, we'll create a custom portrait session styling guide for each session based on our consultation. This includes a custom wardrobe styling guide tailored to fit your session goals and perfectly coordinated for every member of the family we'll be photographing. 

We also like to use this opportunity to show you the products we offer in the studio. We will bring our legacy box filled with matted prints, albums, a wrapped canvas, and one of our painted portraits for you to look at to help give you an idea for how you would like to enjoy your portraits from your session. 

Furthermore, our consult is to help take the stress away from our clients when it comes to preparing for their photo session. We like to make our clients feel as comfortable as possible when they arrive at the studio and feel completely ready to go. We want to help our clients plan out the session beforehand as much as possible in hopes that the in-home consult has provided relief from any stress, making them feel confident their session will provide and capture beautiful moments of their family.
